before knowing how to properly take measurements and make a floor plan i just thought you had to use measurements to fit on a piece of paper then worry about the actual building measurements later , or if you did had to use the actual measurements on the floor plan it had to be the actual ones so if the wall is 12 ft the line that represents the wall on the piece of paper had to be 12 feet long. but now i know that you have to use the actual measurements to scale on the piece of paper depending on what scale you want to use for example our scale was that 1in=1ft and we do that so when we do the model everything is to scale and you know the actual measurements.
I know this because our teacher and bob the owner of space 4 art taught us how to measure correctly with several practice sheets until everyone got the hang of it .
example of my floor plan to scale
this picture showing here is a picture of our floor plan that we did to scale before we actually started making the model.
Building
I did have the experience to build something before but never something that was bigger then me that required team work and communication skills to carry from one place to another so that was quite interesting we carried panels that were so heavy we needed at least 4-5 people help us carry them a few feet but its all part of getting handy and doing the job correctly here at space 4 art we also had to use a lot of power tools and just told overall it could be from getting a stubborn nail out of a long piece of wood that would take you hours or 5 seconds to get out or using a power saw to cut abeam into a certain angle.
I know this knowledge of tools because before we started doing the project one of our teachers Mr.Phil taught us how to properly use a power tools and keep us safe and that nice workers at space 4 art also taught us their cool tricks and tips on how to use tools.

Design-Sketchup
I was aware and had some understanding on the application called sketchup we used this app to virtually create our outdoor kitchen in 3D to see what our final design would look like this design took us a plethora amount of time which was tiring but worth it because the end result is pretty cool.
I know this because of previous projects were we got familiarized with the tools and got to enhance our skills on this app
this picture here is showing our final sketchup model of our outdoor kitchen to scale.
